Lochaven International was established with the aim of giving traditional Scottish woollen garments an exciting, warm and extra durable twist. Our garments are produced on the premises in the Scottish village of Stewarton, Ayrshire, situated in the heart of the traditional textile area.
Lochaven offers to the market it’s worldwide trademarked NATURE FLEECE. This is a unique 100% natural, first cut, felted lambswool which is crafted into a range of men’s, woman’s and children’s jackets, sweaters and accessories. Our exclusive felting technique creates a high loft fabric which has outstanding technical properties and a super soft feel against the skin. The garments have a high warmth to weight ratio, are water and wind resistant, are inherently anti–static and are naturally breathable. This lends their desirable features and adaptabilities to any variable climate and outdoor activity, all of which are vital to our discerning customers. Consumers have a clear choice between petroleum based polyester plastic clothing, which are synthetic fleeces or our quality garments produced from natural lambswool. Lochaven clearly backs the woollen option.
Lochaven has supplied over 40,000 of our unique NATURE FLEECE garments to many of the highest quality retailers throughout the world with 90% being exported to prestigious stores in Japan, Germany, USA and Russia.
Whilst the company is clearly delighted with this unique product, our Mill also produces traditional lambswool, Shetland and cashmere garments. Our classic 100% cashmere baby blanket collection is knitted and hand finished on the premises using only the highest quality cashmere.
Lochaven has grown and prospered due to it’s willingness to identify the significance worldwide of the "Made in Scotland" image.

Lochaven regularly undertakes subcontract manufacturing for some of the most prestigious names in the knitwear world. We also work with UK and international designers to create ranges which we subsequently manufacture for them in lambswool, cashmere, Shetland, cotton or our own NATURE FLEECE which may carry our own label or that of our customer.
Lochaven : Manufacturer and Licensee to the Film Industry
In 2001,Warner Bros chose Lochaven to supply all the Hogwarts school cardigans, jumpers and tank tops worn by the cast and extras for the films in the Harry Potter series including those worn by Tom Marvolo Riddle in the retro flashback scenes. This continued until 2009 with the supply of clothing for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 2. The changing styles throughout the film series was facilitated by access to Lochaven's vast design range which dates back to the 1950's.
Our garments will be featured for the last time on the silver screen in the epic finale Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 2 where we witness the climactic showdown against Harry and Lord Voldemort. It all ends here.
In 2009, due to the success of the movies and the high profile of the Lochaven branded products being worn by the cast, Lochaven offered the products to the public for the first time. In 2010, Lochaven and Warner Bros launched a licensed Harry Potter branded version of our product which is now available from merchandise retailers around the world.
Lochaven is taking part in Harry Potter : A magical event at the London Film museum.
